Abstract

The transport properties of nematic aerogels consisting of oriented mullite nanofibers coated with a graphene shell were studied. The magnetoresistance is approximated by the sum of a negative contribution described by weak localization and a positive contribution linear in magnetic field. The phase coherence length inferred from the weak-localization analysis suggests electron-electron interaction dominates phase decoherence and may indicate a transition from two-dimensional to one-dimensional weak localization at low temperatures. For low-carbon samples with incomplete graphene coating, the temperature dependence of resistance includes both weak-localization and hopping contributions consistent with the Shklovskii-Efros law; for higher-carbon samples, the hopping contribution is absent.
